I only work with a limited number of students at any one time, so I can offer sessions promptly and as often as you need them.

This is my full-time job.

You won't need to worry about finding another tutor mid-way through your journey - whether it lasts a few months or a few years!

Hi! I'm Doron Blake.

I grew up in Los Angeles, where I went to public school until I moved East to attend Phillips Exeter Academy. I've always loved learning, whether in school or on my own. Some of my favorite things to study at the moment are Chinese philosophy, Buddhist philosophy, and time travel and relativity. I love to play Magic the Gathering, Euro games, and squash, as well as read science fiction and fantasy.

I am a certified Montessori Middle School Secondary school teacher. I spent three years teaching an integrated 6th-8th grade classroom in Indiana before becoming a part-time tutor and full-time dad. The Montessori commitment to evaluating each student as a unique person in order to develop the right program for them continues to be the guiding philosophy of my tutoring work.

I'm excited to support you in flying as high as you can! If you would like to go deeper into the content you are learning in school, cover material over the summer in order to move up a level in math or science, or study a subject at a more advanced level than what your school offers, I'm delighted to be your partner on that journey.

Occasional drop-in tutoring can be very useful to help fill gaps in content knowledge, and I enjoy that work very much. However, I know that some students struggle academically because of issues with confidence, procrastination, organization, or study skills. If we work together, I am committed to setting aside the time to really get to know you, so we can work on global skills as well as specific subject knowledge.

Whether you're looking for enrichment or support, I'm excited to work with you!

Thanks so much for your support. My daughter has gained so much confidence in her writing, and her stress level over writing assignments has dramatically decreased.  She is almost enjoying writing. What a difference from this fall!  I can't thank you enough. Your work with her has made a tremendous difference. I feel so lucky to have connected with you.
